MRA Youth Race Series – Manitoba Runners' Association

The Manitoba Runners’ Association (MRA) is proud to offer a Youth Running Series for runners 16 years of age and under (age calculated as of January 1st). The emphasis of this Series is to introduce and encourage participation in the sport of road-running for health, fun and friendship.

This series consists of races with distances of 5k and under. An MRA Membership is required to participate (more information is available here). A school can become a member for as little as $50.00 (every child in the school’s running club is then considered a member of the MRA once they fill out a membership form).

MRA Youth Competition Series

An MRA membership is required to take part in the series. A minimum of 3 races are needed to qualify for an award, with the points in your best 10 races to be used for the final calculations. The point system is as follows:

Overall Awards (Non-Binary)

The total points earned in the Youth Race Series is based on your 10 Best Races. If you have done more than 10, the lowest point scores from your total (those in RED) are removed. Therefore the highest achievable score is 3000 points (10 races x 300 points).

MRA Youth Participation Series

An MRA membership is required to take part in the series. A minimum of 3 races are needed to qualify for an award:

Run 3+ races – BRONZE MEDAL

Run 6+ races – SILVER MEDAL

Run 9+ races – GOLD MEDAL

PLEASE NOTE THAT VIRTUAL RESULTS WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED IN THE MRA YOUTH RACE SERIES.
