MRA Summer Track Club: Run Faster & Incur Fewer Injuries

Did you know that by simply learning some of the basic fundamentals of running, along with a proper warm-up, you can become a faster runner and incur fewer injuries??

The MRA, in association with Athletics Manitoba (AM), has developed a program of workouts specifically designed for road runners, whether you’re new to the sport or have been training and racing for years.

The workouts will be held once a week on Wednesdays 7:00-8:30pm at the Victor Mager Track (81 Beliveau Road) starting July 6th until September 28th. Clinicians will be Calvin Reimer and Noel Kendle, middle distance specialists with the U of M Bison Track Team.

These workouts are available FREE to MRA members.

Non-MRA members pay a nominal fee of $25 + GST.

Workouts will be tailored to your current level of training and there will be separate groups for youth and adults. Some of the topics that will be covered are:

  • what is a good warm-up and why is it important?
  • running mechanics
  • speed workouts
  • at-home injury prevention, and more!

Each session will build on the last one, with the goal of developing both speed and strength over the span of the program. Get yourself ready for the fall racing schedule by signing up here:
