Thanks to a generous donation from Mr. Rob Guy, we are excited to announce the creation of a new Scholarship Fund:

THE MRA NATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD

Intent of Award: To establish an annual award that identifies road runners who are excelling within Manitoba, and who would benefit from financial support to compete at a national level.

Value: $1250 per award (2 recipients annually: one man, one woman)

Process: Each year at the start of the racing season, MRA shall publish the award criteria and an application form on the MRA website and through MRA social media accounts. At the end of the season, MRA shall review the list of applicants, choose the winners for the next season, and make appropriate announcements.

2025 CRITERIA:

• To be eligible to receive this award, an applicant must:
  o be a current MRA member;
  o primarily live and train in Manitoba;
  o be actively training at the time of the award announcement;
  o be a full Athletics Manitoba member;
  o intend to compete at a 5k, 10k, Half Marathon or Full Marathon National Championship in 2026;
  o submit official race results from a certified 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and/or Full Marathon run during 2025;
• Athletes may receive this award more than once.

   

  APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE MRA OFFICE NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 10TH IN THE YEAR PRIOR TO FUNDING.
